… our desire is to bring Salvadoran culture and cuisine to the heart of Stockton, California & the Central Valley. Now, Chef Nicolas & his brother Juan & family are stepping up to keep the authentic taste of El Salvador and Central America.
Platano first opened its doors in Berkeley, on July 15th, 2006. Thanks to the love & support of our taste & culture, we have extended throughout the Bay Area, Central Valley and hope to keep branching out all over California.
Some of our specialties are our authentic Pupusas, stuffed thick corn flour tortillas or rice flour served with curtido and salsa, and our famous Mar y Tierra, grilled New York steak & grilled seasoned shrimp served with avocado and chimol.
Come out and Enjoy our delicious Pupusas & Salvadoran Culture!
